A couple who won a $2.7 million home say they are furious (họ rất tức giận) because it has been stripped of (đã bị lột sạch/ lấy sạch) decorative and luxury items (các món đồ trang trí và các vật dụng đắt tiền), according to multiple reports (nhiều báo cáo).
Kevin and Andrea Griffin won the multimillion-dollar home in Gisborne, a town close to Melbourne, Australia, as part of a reality TV show (chương trình truyền hình thực tế) called "The Block," MailOnline reported.
The original owner (chủ nhân ban đầu) of the house was Melbourne businessman Adrian Portelli who announced (tuyên bố) last year that he would raffle it off as a prize (trao tặng nó ngẫu nhiên như một giải thưởng) through his online business LMCT+.
But after arriving in the house, the couple accused Portelli of (cáo buộc Portelli) removing (dọn đi) more than $64,800 worth of goods (số hàng hóa trị giá 64,800 đô la) from the home, which included a wine fridge (tủ lạnh đựng rượu), a meat smoker (máy nướng thịt xông khói), a treadmill (máy chạy bộ), and luxury kitchen appliances (các thiết bị nhà bếp sang trọng), MailOnline reported.
Security footage (đoạn phim an ninh), obtained by MailOnline, appears to show Portelli and his team carrying some of these items out of the home.
"We were just like, what the hell?" Andrea Griffin told the Herald Sun. "Why has he done this?"
The Griffins are creating a website detailing (mô tả chi tiết) their account, entitled (có tựa đề) "Our LMCT nightmare," according to MailOnline.
Portelli clapped back at their accusations (đáp lại lời cáo buộc của họ), saying that the items "weren't part of the giveaway,"(không phải là một phần của món quà tặng) the report said.
"It was just part of the show, it wasn't in our T's and C's," he added. "Our T's and C's say this is a fully-furnished house (một ngôi nhà được trang bị đầy đủ tiện nghi), which is what we delivered on (chuyển giao)."
Portelli said that it is "up to me" (tùy thuộc vào tôi) to decide what to do with the items.
"Wherever I want to use them personally or I want to use them to stage (tổ chức) future giveaway houses, who bloody cares," he said.
He has since announced a $1 giveaway for all the items that were removed from the house.
Portelli and the Griffins did not immediately respond (phản hồi) to Insider's request for comment (yêu cầu bình luận).
LMCT+, which Portelli founded (được thành lập) in 2018, is best known for (nổi tiếng với) its monthly member giveaways (các chương trình tặng quà hàng tháng cho thành viên) of luxury cars, houses, and cash prizes (giải thưởng tiền mặt). Most of the giveaways are posted on social media (được đăng lên mạng xã hội).
The couple had been paying a $20 per month (hàng tháng) membership (thẻ hội viên) with LMCT+ for over a year (trong hơn 1 năm) before they won the home through a giveaway, reports claim (khẳng định).
The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) and South Australia's Consumer and Business Services (CBS) said earlier this week that LMCT+ is under investigation (đang bị điều tra) following complaints (sau khi có khi có khiếu nại) made about the company.
It is unclear whether (liệu rằng) the complaints are related to (có liên quan đến) the claims (tuyên bố) made by the Griffin couple.
