Complete Changes

Some insects go through complete metamorphosis. They change form. Here are three examples.

Thay đổi hoàn toàn

Một số côn trùng trải qua quá trình biến đổi hình dạng hoàn toàn. Chúng thay đổi hình dạng. Sau đây là ba ví dụ.

Bees

Many bees make cocoons. Young bees are called larvas. They are wormlike. They spin a cocoon. They spend a week or two in the cocoon. They grow eyes, legs, and wings in there.

Butterflies

Butterflies are known for their changes. As larvas, they are caterpillars. They grow and shed. Then they enter a chrysalis. It protects them. Weeks pass, and the butterfly hatches.

Ants

Ants hatch from eggs as larvas. The larvas have no eyes or legs. They grow into pupas. The pupas have folded legs and antennas. Some species spin cocoons. A cocoon protects the pupa as it grows.
